CONCERT AUDIENCE & HOST HOMES NEEDED
Just as the Pennsylvania churches welcomed our Youth Choir so warmly in May, we now have the
opportunity to welcome another church's choir to Calvary on Thursday, June 17.
A 41-voice high school choir from Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, Illinois,
will give a concert that evening at 7:30 PM, spend the night with various church members,
then go on to their next stop early the next morning. This is the help we need to host this group:
Donated covered dishes for a meal at 5:30 PM on Thursday evening in Good Shepherd Hall
An audience to hear the concert at 7:30 PM in the sanctuary
Several host homes to house the 34 males and 25 females overnight, then feed and return
them to the church on Friday morning (41 youth and 18 adult chaperones)
If you can help in any way, sign up at the Calvary Connection in the music ministry binder,
or contact Beckie Karras directly.
FALL GUITAR CLASSES
Are you interested in learning how to play the guitar? We are hoping to offer beginner or
advanced beginner classes this fall. Please contact Beckie Karras if you are interested in
taking a Wednesday night guitar class, beginning in September. We need at least five students
to run a class. The cost will be $90 for eight one-hour sessions.
WORSHIP MUSIC
Thanks to all the choir members for providing such beautiful music for the past ten months!
While they are away from the choir loft for the summer, soloists provide special music for
eleven weeks. If you want to sing or play a solo of sacred/religious music during the summer,
contact Beckie Karras right away.
FREDERICK KEYS
The Wesley Ringers will ring the National Anthem at Keys Stadium in Frederick again this
summer on July 25. Emily Dyson has reserved a block of 100 tickets for Calvary members
that night. You will soon be able to sign up for tickets at the Calvary Connection.
Watch for the announcement in the bulletin. Our own Sarah Field will be singing the
National Anthem at Keys Stadium as well, on July 28.
PRAISE TEAM
At the end of May, Richard Cole "retired" as a member and head of the praise team.
We appreciate his many years of service to Calvary and wish him well as he explores new
ministry possibilities.
MUSICIANS NEEDED
If you love contemporary Christian music and you sing well or play a praise instrument
(guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, banjo), and have some interest in being a part of the praise team,
contact Mark Plante or Beckie Karras.
